ENGAGE 2026 · Oct 03, 2026
A lanyard insert for every registrant, six to a sheet, one run per network. The names are the ones on the registrations page, so corrections and duplicates made there come through here.
Numbers run 001 upwards in alphabetical order, one sequence for the whole conference. Assign is safe at any time: it only gives numbers to people who have none, on the end. Renumber puts everybody back into alphabetical order from 001, so it is for after registration closes and before anything is printed. Afterwards it would be a tray that no longer matches its cards.
The same badge goes on the back of each
card, so a holder that has spun on its clip still shows the name. It is
the same number of sheets, printed on both faces.
The file asks for all of this itself — 2-sided, bound on
the long edge, and printed at 100% rather than
“fit to page”. So the print dialog should already be set
when it opens. Check it anyway before a long run: it is a
request, and a dialog or a shared queue is free to ignore it. Those
three are what matters — the long edge because the back of each
sheet is laid out for it, and 100% because these are 4×3 inch
cards, and a driver that shrinks them to its own margins makes cards
that do not fit the holders.
Run one sheet first. Low on each side, in the margin under the
badges, is a small grey square — near the left edge on the front
and the right edge on the back, which is the same spot on the paper.
Hold the sheet up to a window: the two squares should sit exactly on
top of each other. At opposite corners means the binding edge is the
other one, and every badge would back onto its neighbour — which
nothing looks wrong about until the sheets are cut and two people are
wearing each other’s name.

In any order, separated by commas, spaces or new lines. 003 and 3 are the same badge. Every number here gets a card — a name is looked for in the registrations first and then on the roster, and a number nobody holds still prints, carrying the number and a blank name line to write on. Each card is in its own network’s color, in number order, on Avery inserts: the conference’s printed sheets are one network to a sheet, so a mixed run cannot go on them. No spare sheets follow it. |
